Packet pickup

In preparation for race day, you have several options to pick up your race bibs and gift bags. (You'll recieve a gift bag if you were one of the 1st 300 to sign up):

  1. Philadelphia Runner: If you're in Philadelphia Friday, you can pick up your packet at Philadelphia Runner's Center City Location (16th and Sansom Street) 10/21/11 from 12 - 6 pm. (Note: You cannot pick up team shirts on Friday. This must be done race day or you can get them Saturday at the symposium.)
  2. Patient Symposium: If you're attending the patient symposium on Saturday you can grab your packet during the meeting from 1:30 - 2:00 pm.
  3. Race Day: If you're not able to make either pre-race pick up, don't worry, you can pick up your packet on race day, just be sure to come early to pick up your bib before the race start. Packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.

Transporation

On race day a bus will be running from the Courtyard Marriott downtown to race start. The first will depart at 7:00 a.m. and the 2nd at 7:40 a.m. Please note that if you need to pick up your bib on race morning you should take the earlier bus as registration will close at 8:15 a.m. The bus is a first come, first serve basis. The bus will return to the Courtyard Marriott from the Start Line at 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. return trips. Thanks to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America for this service!

Start Line

This year, the run, walk, and kids' fun run will all start in front of the Please Touch Museum located at 4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia. Please use the map for directions.

    • 76 West to Montgomery Drive Exit (#341)
    • Turn left at the light onto Montgomery Drive
    • Turn left onto Belmont Avenue
    • Turn left onto Avenue of the Republic
    • RFA race area will be on your left
  • From the West
    • 76 East to Montgomery Drive Exit (#341)
    • Turn right off the ramp onto Montgomery Drive
    • Turn left onto Belmont Avenue
    • Turn a left onto Avenue of the Republic
    • RFA race area will be on your left
  • From City Avenue
    • Take City Avenue to Belmont Avenue
    • If you are coming from the Expressway, turn LEFT onto Belmont. If you are coming from the Wynnewood area turn RIGHT onto Belmont.
    • Turn left onto Avenue of the Republic
    • RFA race area will be on your left
  • From I-95
    • Take I-95 North/South to I-676 West
    • Follow I-676 to I-76 West
    • Take I-76 West to Montgomery Drive Exit (#341)
    • Turn left at the light onto Montgomery Drive
    • Turn left onto Belmont Avenue
    • Turn left onto Avenue of the Republic
    • RFA race area will be on your left

Parking - (download)

There is plenty of street parking around the Please Touch Museum. Arrive early for best spots!. Street parking will beavailable around the Please Touch Museum along Parkside Ave, S Concourse St, W Rd, E Rd, N 41st St, and Lansdowne Dr. Additionally, on-site parking is available in Please Touch Museum’s parking lot directly next to the Museum. Parking is $8.00 per car and free for museum members. Prices subject to change.

Route Map

The RFA events will start and finish in front of the Please Touch Museum. This year's race features a scenic route through the breathtaking Japanese Gardens of Fairmount Park. Runners and walkers will get a chance to traverse the very route used for iconic Philadelphia events such as the Philadelphia Marathon or the Philadelphia Triathlon. Don't get too distracted by touch football leagues put on by the Philadelphia Sports and Social Club playing along the end stretch of the race route.

Lodging

A block of rooms are being held at the Marriott Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown at the special group rate of $129 per night the evening of October 21st and 22nd. This rate is available on a first come first serve basis and reservations must be made by September 22nd.
